Sensei Pervez Mistry

Sensei Pervez Mistry is the last remaining IOGKF founding chief instructor. Meaning in the entire 40 year history of IOGKF only one person has led the organisation in India and that is Sensei Mistry. He began his training back in the early sixites and has never stopped. His relationship with Master Higaonna spans over nearly five decades and Sensei Mistry still makes regular visits back to Okinawa to continue his own training. His sport science and personal training background has made his a leading authority on the human body and its relationship to martial arts. He is a popular author and his most recent successful book is entitled 'Three battles - anatomy and physiology of Sanchin Kata'. He has developed an expert knowledge on Sanchin and will be sharing his wisdom with us at this Gasshuku. 

A MASTER OF KARATE

Sensei Mistry has formally been presented with the status of Shihan (Master) by Higaonna Sensei.

8th DEGREE BLACK BELT

Sensei was awarded this grade in 2012 by Supreme Master, Sensei Morio Higaonna in Okinawa.

A KARATE PIONEER

Sensei Mistry was the first person in India to ever achieve Black Belt status.
