Upon traveling to Okinawa for the first time, he met with Goju-ryu Master Shuichi Aragaki. So taken aback by what he learned, Nakamura Sensei returned to Okinawa to pursue Karate as soon as he completed his university studies. After a period of time Aragaki Sensei introduced him to Master Morio Higaonna. Deciding to make a lifelong commit to protect and master Goju-ryu, he followed Higaonna Sensei to California, Tokyo and back to Okinawa over many years, becoming the Masters private disciple.
